Our ice cream crafters make each batch by hand to ensure each dairy and vegan flavor is downright awesome. Plus, we churn our ice cream on site daily to deliver the freshest treats. About Nicole
Growing up in DairyLand, one of Nicole’s first jobs was working at a custard stand where she fell in love with the sure joy ice cream brought people. Passionate about the environment and sustainable farming, Nicole eventually combined her loves by crafting ice cream on her hobby farm and selling scoops out of a mobile ice cream cart at farmers markets and events. Today Nicole continues to combine her passions for sustainable farming, food and the environment to create delicious ice creams that strive to better our community and our planet, one yummy scoop at a time.

Since 1902, members of the Daninger family have always had a commitment to producing natural dairy products from their dairy operation on the south side of Forest Lake, Minnesota. As a family business with long-held ties to the land, Autumnwood Farm is fully invested in the animals, the land and everything the land produces. The entire farm is managed in a highly sustainable and environmentally balanced manner. The Daninger family has been honored with awards for top-quality milk, community service and environment-respecting farming practices. We are proud to partner with Autumnwood Dairy to produce all of Love Creamery’s ice cream dairy bases.

Tom and Ann are the real deal. North Wind Organic Farm, nestled in a mostly forested and hilly region of far northern Wisconsin, is about three miles from Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. The farm emphasizes solar and wind energy, ecological decision making, self-reliance and beyond organic production of fruits and vegetables. Love Creamery incorporates strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and other crops from Northwind Organic Farms in many of our seasonal flavors. Northwind crops also are marketed locally through co-ops, farmers markets, a CSA, restaurants, and to farm visitors.

Who wouldn’t love treats that are baked from scratch? Positively 3rd Street Bakery is one of Duluth’s beloved bakeries and a worker-owned cooperative. Since 1983, they have provided wholesome, affordable food for the community. Positively 3rd Street Bakery makes a variety of delectable baked goods for Love Creamery to incorporate in our ice cream sandwiches and other ice cream concoctions.

Duluth Coffee is a small business that has been making a big impact. Eric started his coffee company by roasting coffee out of his garage, and over time, he grew the business organically. By traveling to coffee origin locations and meeting with coffee producers, Eric realized that to have real influence on people’s lives, Duluth Coffee Company needed to source beautiful coffees from people and places he had visited, taking on the responsibility to make those coffees and knowledge of their people and places widely available to coffee drinkers. Love Creamery uses Duluth Coffee’s Zenith Espresso Roast in our espresso drinks and in a number of our coffee flavored ice creams.

Maple Syrup Sweetness
Since 1982, Dave started fishing for Alaskan salmon. His three children have grown into helping their dad with his successful fishing endeavors that now include cod and halibut But his business sense also brought him to an inland venture with a large stand of maple trees (a sugar bush) on his land. Dave’s small maple syrup production expanded over time to now include a great array of tree-to-tree tubing and pumps. Love Creamery taps into this golden goodness for its maple-infused flavors.

Erin & Brian have been blending teas and herbs as a hobby over the past 15 years for family, friends and coffee shops and decided to take the next step and officially start a business in 2017. They use fairly traded and organic herbs and teas in most blends (over 90% of the 30+ ingredients we blend with) and have been working with some farmers and foragers on the North Shore to source ingredients locally in the future. We use Zenith Tea Works in a number of signature ice cream flavors including Chai, London Fog and Green Tea, as well as in our espresso bar drinks. Zenith Tea Works

With a goal of providing not only delicious produce but also that which is colorful and farmed using the most environmentally conscious and sustainable methods possible, Starr started a regenerative farm. Her roots are strong having worked as the Land Stewardship Coordinator for the Duluth Community Garden Program in addition to her Saltless Sea farm. Her products of edible flowers, microgreens, and duck eggs are some of the things that make our ice cream so unique and yummy.

A Victory Garden
Glensheen Mansion, perched on the shore of Lake Superior, is the most visited historic home in Minnesota. The 12-acre estate features gardens, bridges, and the famous 39-room mansion built with remarkable 20th-century craftsmanship, telling the story of the Duluth region. We partner with Glensheen on occasion to make ice cream from ingredients such as honey, herbs and fruit, all grown in the 40+ bed vegetable and fruit garden. Visit Glensheen

Locally Laid and Farm Lola is a family run mission-based farm in Wrenshall, Minnesota. Locally Laid aims to change the way eggs are produced in America and to diversify the chicken farm the family opened a produce wing – Farm LoLa (LoLa is short for Locally Laid and the name of every chicken at the pasture-raised egg farm.)
